General counselling can support anxiety, stress, low mood, grief and loss, burnout, life transitions, identity changes, relationship difficulties and more. Together we’ll explore what’s happening, why it feels so hard, and practical ways to cope.
You might benefit from counselling if worry, overthinking, panic or physical symptoms are affecting your sleep, work, relationships or daily life. If you’re feeling constantly “on edge” or overwhelmed, it’s a good time to reach out.
The first session is about getting to know you and your story. We’ll talk about what’s brought you here, your goals for counselling, your supports, and any safety concerns, and then agree on a plan for moving forward at a pace that feels right.
Some people feel a shift in a few sessions, while others prefer longer-term support. We’ll review your goals together regularly so you can decide what’s working and how often you’d like to attend.
Yes, if you have a current Mental Health Care Plan from your GP and meet Medicare criteria, you may be eligible for rebates on your counselling sessions. We can talk through the details before you book.
Yes. Sessions are trauma-informed, meaning we’re mindful of your nervous system, triggers and past experiences, and we won’t push you to talk about things you’re not ready to explore.
We draw on evidence-based approaches like CBT, EMDR, narrative therapy, strengths-based and emotion-focused work, always tailoring the approach to your needs, values and goals.
Yes. What you share is confidential except in specific circumstances where there are serious safety or legal concerns. We’ll explain all of this clearly in your first session.
